My goal is to be in the best shape of my life by the time I turn forty. I figure that after forty, my health will naturally go downhill. So if I'm going to get fit and be healthy enough to enjoy my adult children and (hopefully) grandchildren, now is the time to get started.
I've never been obese, but I've never been particularly fit either. And I'm sick of it. After having eight children, the belly is rather flabby. And that's where all my fat hangs out - not on my hips or thighs, but right at my waist.
And "they" say that is the unhealthiest fat to have.
So. I am waging war. I have 328 days to get fit. Not just a little fit, but really fit. Kick butt kinda fit.
I began this blog to have a record of my challenges and successes. While I was trying to name the blog, it was amazing the number of blogs with titles similar to this one. I decided to check them out and the saddest part was that 95% of them have a few posts. People who started and then quit.
That in itself is motivation.
On to some statistics (I'm a math geek at heart, so I love numbers).
Waist: 30"
Hips: 35"
Chest: 32.5"
Right arm: 9.75"
Right thigh: 18.25"
Right Forearm: 8.5"
Right Wrist: 5.5"

So, other than to get fit, what are my specific goals?

That would mean losing 13 pounds of fat and gaining 5 pounds of muscle. Sounds do-able.
